I'm getting a lot of inquiries about pricing so I thought I'd add some basic guidelines. I am a small independent company that makes specialty cakes that follow the similar ideas of those shown on shows like the Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes. Unfortunately, neither of those shows advertise how much they charge for their cakes. Carlos Bakery (the Cake Boss), starts his cakes at $8 per person. Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes) charges a bare minimum of $1,000. My cakes don't quite go that high. My cakes start around $2 per person with a minimum of $75. A per person price is based on how many people the cake can feed not necessarily how many you need to feed. So if you're having a party with 30 people but want a 4 tiered cake, the price is based on the cake not the guest list.
A cut out cake such as this one starts at $2 per person and goes up depending on the intricacy of the design. This sort of cake can be done either as one thick layer or two thin layers with a filling.
A buttercream tiered cake will starts at $2.50 per person. This is also a starting price for wedding cakes.
A 3-D buttercream cake starts at $3.50 per person.
A fondant cake starts at $4 per person.
A 3-D fondant cake, like the dump truck on top of this tiered cake, starts at $5.00 per person.
3-D fondant figures, like the Kung Fu Panda seen here, start at $30 per figure. They are exceptionally time consuming and take between 2 and 4 hours to make.
Cupcakes begin at $1 each for a plain cupcake with icing and sprinkles. An additional $.50 each if you'd like a filling.
$1.50 for a flower or simplistic design.
$2 each if you'd like an edible image on them.
$3.50 for a fondant disc as shown here.
$5 if you want a 3-D fondant design.
An additional $.50-$2 each for funky wrappers.
Cupcake trees are priced from their retailers.
Delivery is available to most locations around the city. It is $50 an hour round trip from Squirrel Hill according to Google Maps.
