Fun Cakes!
Here's an eclectic collection of fun cakes I've made over the past year.

Kung Fu Panda Cake
This is one of the cakes that I am most proud of! This was made for a little boy's first birthday. It's an almond cake with white icing. The cake is covered in fondant with another fondant ribbon around the cake with Happy Birthday written in Chinese painted on it. The Panda himself was also made out of fondant.

Handful of Blue Cake
This cake was made for a little girl's 2nd birthday. The demands she listed to her mother were that the cake must have a monkey, an elephant and a handful of blue! This is the design her mother and I came up with. The animals are all made of fondant. It's a yellow cake with white icing and a blue ribbon of fondant saying Happy Birthday to the birthday girl.

Bruins Cake
Before anyone gets mad at me for this and wavering loyalties, this cake was made for a six year olds birthday and he liked the logo just because his name also started with a B! It's a yellow cake decorated with both white and chocolate buttercream.

Garden Cake
This cake was made for my other mother's birthday. It's a yellow cake with raspberry filling. It's icing with white buttercream and chocolate buttercream boarders. The dirt is cake crumbs while everything else is white buttercream.
Winnie the Pooh Baby Shower Cake
This cake was made for a woman's daughter's baby shower. Winnie the Pooh is a double layered yellow sheet cake cake in the characters shape and covered with buttercream icing. The balloons are a double layered chocolate sheet cake. The photos are edible images and they're of both the mother and the baby to be in the womb. It's all tied together with black curling ribbon. It's displayed on a 20-inch by 30-inch board so this cake is huge!

Surfboard Cake
This cake was made for a friend of a friend. The surfboard is made of a two layer yellow cake sheet cake. The icing is a rich buttercream. The happy birthday sign is written in icing.
Happy 30th!
This cake was made for my good friends older sister. The 3 is a two layer yellow cake and the 0 is a two layer gluten free cake! The icing is a rich orange flavored icing with white buttercream embellishments. The happy birthday sign is written on a strip of fondant.

Easter Basket
This was created last April for my families Easter dinner. It's a yellow cake with a buttercream basket weave. The interior is filled with buttercream grass and has typical Easter candy inside. The flowers are made of royal icing.
This cake is great for any sort of Easter celebration!

Softmachine Record
My friend Priya asked me to make this cake for her boyfriend, Robin, this past February. It's a replica of his favorite record, Third, by Softmachine. It's a marble cake with chocolate icing in between the layers. The outside icing is white buttercream. The surface was raked with an icing comb and the rest was just copied from the record itself.

Under the Sea
This was one of my first cakes. I made it for my lil' brother's 20th birthday. It's a 9 inch round yellow cake. It's got teddy grahams and gold fish crackers and jelly beans. It's also got every gummy creature I could find, including fish, sharks, lobster and an octopus. The sand is crushed up graham crackers and the sea weed is rolled out airheads. I had a lot of fun with this cake!
